Title I
The External Funding Titles I, II & IV Department supports schools in helping all students meet challenging state standards by improving academic achievement—especially in reading and math—promoting schoolwide reform, providing staff training, directing resources to high-need areas, and encouraging parent involvement. Title I, Part A focuses on ensuring that all children, regardless of economic status, have access to a fair, equitable, and high-quality education. Under ESSA, Title I includes five areas:
- Improving basic programs
- State assessment grants
- Migrant education
- Prevention/intervention for at-risk youth
- Flexibility for equitable funding.
